A short video retracing the milestones in FATRO’s history

An intimate and moving video that takes us through the key moments that have shaped the history of FATRO. It all began in 1947, in a small pharmaceutical laboratory housed within a noble palace in Forlì - a building miraculously spared from the bombings of the Second World War.

This journey was born from the experience and vision of Gualtiero Zaini, who held degrees in both Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine. In his pharmacy in Bertinoro (in the province of Forlì), he developed galenic preparations for treating the animals of local farmers. With the contribution of his son Corrado, a Chemistry graduate, scientific knowledge joined the family’s passion: the father’s notebooks filled with formulas gradually became real veterinary medicines, laying the foundations for FATRO’s growth into an industrial enterprise.

Thanks to close collaboration with veterinarians and the most renowned professors from the Veterinary Medicine Faculties of the time, FATRO quickly became a leading player in Italian veterinary history. A story built on research, innovation, and passion - qualities that enabled the company to face and overcome numerous challenges, establishing itself as a trusted benchmark in the field thanks to the quality and reliability of its products.

Over the years, through steady investment and major acquisitions, FATRO has expanded its presence beyond national borders, becoming one of the key players in veterinary medicine at an international level.

Today, as it approaches its eightieth anniversary, FATRO continues to stand out for the strength of its roots and its ability to look to the future with a youthful, dynamic spirit - committed to the research and development of innovative medicines and vaccines for all animal species.
